My choreographic works are modern, contemporary as well as jazz-influenced, with occasional neo-classical elements. I often, though not always, perform my own dances, sometimes together with other performers.
Music is a very important source of inspiration, and I try as much as possible to use musical and sound works that are challenging as well as entertaining.
Some works are:
Facetten (2018), sound by Sebastian Laurich and Linda Gieres, to the music of Henryk Mikolaj Górecki, costume by Jana Meister,
Rubrum Lux (2015), to the music of Arvo Pärt
A Single Quantum of Light (2014), original score by Patrick Muller
Extraordinary Machine (2006), to the music of Fiona Apple
White Moment (2005), to the music of Arvo Pärt
and the living is easy (2004), to the music of Angélique Kidjo
I'm always very happy when other choreographers ask me to appear in their work - I appreciate and enjoy this tremendously: finding yourself in someone else's vision is always a great challenge and unbelievably gratifying! It is also very healthy and educational, as a choreographer, to sometimes figure on the "other" - the performer's - side of the creative process.
